5th Anniversary Celebration
 Friday, September 19, 2003
Day After Hurricane Isabel

Some of us put our chainsaws down, washed with water from bottles, and scooted on over to the Bluemont Junction Park pavilion to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Babes on Bikes!  Due to no electricity or water, Bubba the caterer couldn't prepare the food, but hey, why cancel the party?

Sue W., Master of Ceremonies, honored several of us with "thematic" gifts for our individual contributions to the club.  The award-winning MS 150 "Babes and Babe Magnets on Bikes" team gave the club a gift of $100 to go toward the club's web-hosting costs, thanking us for hosting a page for them.  The BIG honor was to Beth, for leading the group these 5 years.  The Babes' 150 members donated to the Friends of the W & OD Trail on her behalf, and gave Beth bicycle-themed jewelry, gorgeous flowers, and a gift certificate for massage therapy.  Joan helped design and distributed new Babes' shirts commemorating the occasion, Gaye wrote a poem honoring Beth,  and we had a fabulous cake, soft drinks, and some munchies too!  But no BBQ from Bubba!  Lots of Babes pulled together on this one!!  Thank you, all!

PHOTO CHOICES!

Below we post 3 fabulous collages Sandy S. created from our many rides, and a few pics from the event.  See even more pics here!

To see a large image of each collage, just click on the link next to the pic.  If you set up your printer to print landscape, you can then print out the collage as an 8.5" X 11" image.
